STRUNG LIKE A HORSE
Strung Like a Horse is a Chattanooga-based no-rules-holding-us-back "Bluegrass" band in the vein of the Old Crow Medicine Show or Red Stick Ramblers, but with the old-time and Cajun turned down just a bit and the high-energy acoustic gypsy jazz turned up.
The band hits the stage like a hurricane, energy popping from every player. Each performance is an exuberant celebration of the power of music. Even bluegrass hero Sam Bush remarked, after they opened for him at Track 29, that the five-piece band's full-tilt set "makes me sound like Bill Monroe." Their high-energy performances found them booked to play sets at two Hollywood film "wrap parties" during the production of "American Reunion" and "What to Expect When You're Expecting."
GALLOWS BOUND
Raised in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains and stemming from three chord punk rock provides for a unique twist on traditional instruments, having been known as outlaw bluegrass. With their first album "Empty Flask, Empty Heart", their songs are described as an "aggressive yet melodic collection" ranging from fast and punchy tales of rambling and love, to dark and soulful songs birthed from whiskey and regret.
