Ithaca Fringe: Warriors & Other Victims Or 32 Words in 65 Minutes Give or Take a Few of Each Some of Them Perhaps Unspoken
So what is it, really, that burns at the end of the tunnel?
Michael Burnham, who's been called "the grandfather of Cincinnati's alternative theater scene," travels to Ithaca to explain how the scars of the parents are visited upon Warriors & Other Victims. He'd like to say he sticks to the facts but lately his memory's leaky. As is his family secret.
The good news? He sings. (Albeit not well) He dances! (If you think an old man in motion is dancing) He quotes from literature!! (Mostly stuff you shoulda-woulda-coulda read in high school)
And, sure, he studied Butoh with Atsushi Takenouchi in France, Body Weather with Oguri in Wales, Acting and Voice with Teatr Pieśń Kozła in Poland, and, yes, he's in the Cincinnati Entertainment Association Hall of Fame so his pedigree may be okay but he's not, as they say, all right.
Stop by and see for yourself.
