The Monterey Peninsula Voices celebrates its 52nd year with a Spring Concert that will blow your mind and stir your heart! This celebrated and critically acclaimed 100+ voice choir, under the direction of Dr. Sean Boulware will be singing music from the American Civil War era as part of the 150th Anniversary events going on around the United States commemorating the American Civil War and the turbulent but important times in our country's history and traditions. In the first act, the Monterey Peninsula Voices will sing songs from both the Union and Confederate traditions, as well as songs written and popular for all Americans at the time. The second half of the concert will be a commemoration of the songs and spirituals sung by slaves with the preservation of the deep emotional and heart-pulling content of all of those pieces.
You will hear songs of courage and bravery as well as songs of mourning and loss. Music that brought us hope and light as well as music that comforted us in this time of great war and loss.
Favorites such as:

will be making a return to the choir. And thrilling renditions of more songs will delight and touch audiences of all ages!
