SCBA Presents: Paco Fish 2 Night Workshop Package
This is the pre-purchase for Nationally touring Burlesque phenomenon, Paco Fish's 2 NIGHTS of work shops at The Steel City Burlesque Academy at Most Wanted Fine Art. Pre-registering for the classes will allow you a discounted rate for both evenings of $40.00.
These classes are a MUST for not only burlesque personalities, but any stage performer of all levels.
Wednesday, April 30th, 7-8:30pm "Power in Silence" (90 mins) There is power in silence and strength in stillness. If you want to get big laughs from your jokes and big cheers for your teasing, your reveals must make an impact. In this class, we will explore stillness and movement as contrasting tools for communication. We will focus on clarity of movement, communicating silently, building tension, and creating strong moments. Students should wear comfortable clothes in which they can move freely.
Thursday, May 1st, 7-8:00pm "Creating Character and Embodying Emotion" (60 mins @ $20) Every story needs a character and every character needs emotions. Using guided physical explorations, we will discover many different personalities hidden within our bodies and the physical ways they express themselves. We will learn how to create clear characters and express distinct emotions with our whole selves. Students should wear comfortable clothes in which they can move freely.
About the instructor: Paco Fish thrives on duality. He is a dynamic performer of spoken and physical comedy, burlesque, boylesque, stilt walking, clown, mime, and a variety of other media. Most of Paco's characters exist in multiple forms and his acts are visual representations of the transitions between these coexisting identities. Whether playing a freshwater turtle in forbidden saltwater love, a tramp with a deal with the devil, or the whole history of modern France, Paco dismantles assumptions and defies convention with humor and passion. He is the founder of Baltimore's Sticky Buns Burlesque and currently holds the titles, "King of Southern Exposure," "King of Carolina Sweet Tease," and "Most Humorous" from both the Great Burlesque Exposition and The Carolina Burlesque Festival.
