Diane's presentation will cover women artists of the 20th century with their increasing independence and adventurous spirit. Her talk will also include the work of contemporary women artists and their influence on new directions for self-expression in the 21st Century. Diane has a broad understanding of the history of women artists and her ability to engage and excite her audience is extraordinary. Her knowledge and passion for this subject create a riveting experience for all.
Diane Armitage has a BFA and an MFA in Art Studio from the University of New Mexico. She is a freelance writer and editor and an Adjunct Lecturer in Art History at Santa Fe Community College, where she established the Art History program in 1999. Diane is an artist working in digital video and her work in new media was recently included in a 5-year traveling exhibition. She is currently working on a degree in Film Studies.
