May 4th | "GospelFEST 2014" | E. Glenn Giltz Auditorium Hawkins Hall | SUNY Plattsburgh | (5:00pm) Plattsburgh, NY 12901 - Grab your dancing shoes and enjoy this dynamic 65-voice choir with 9 piece band as they celebrate the end of the spring semester with yet another GospelFEST Concert!
The choir's repertoire for GospelFEST 2014 will present a moving spiritual lead by Germaine Wilson "I've Been Buked", and Raymond Wise's energetic concert-spiritual arrangement of "I've Got a Robe". Bobbie "Mamma" Criss will have the audience on its feet and clapping with "When I Rose this Morning". Dr. Learie Nurse will be in rare form as he walks us to a new place with Donald Lawrence's ballad "Beautiful Feet". Looking for that Urban infusion, well the choir will have you rapping and tapping with Joe Pace's hard driving "Shake the Foundation". The gospel choir will end the concert with Hezekiah Walker's mega hit "Every Praise"!
Also performing at this year's concert are the choir's Step Team, Praise Team and Praise Dancers. The FEATURED GUEST for GospelFEST 2014 will be John Harrison & Montpelier Gospel Choir. The MPGC combines soul, jazz, blues, and original and traditional gospel music to produce an exuberant sound. (http://vtgospel.com/)
GospelFEST starts at 5:00pm; doors open at 4:30pm. Tickets for students grades K-12 & college are $5 in advance or $8 at the door. General admission is $12 in advance or $16 at the door. Children 2 and younger are free! (As long as they will share a seat with an adult). Tickets are available at the SUNY Angell College Center desk, Advance Music (Burlington), the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts and the Gospel Choir Office (129 Hawkins, Hall).
