Get Smarty Coaching
Nadia Kean, aka Smarty Pants, gained the respect of the international derby community through years of coaching for independent leagues and at training camps. Nadia enjoys working with a wide range of ability and skill. Her thought-provoking approach to coaching has helped thousands of skaters become the athletes they set out to be. Smarty incorporates concepts from various educational and athletic fields, focusing on the connections that are made between the brain and the body to enhance mobility, strength, strategy and skill. She feels equally comfortable coaching skaters who are in their first year as she does working with skaters preparing for WFTDA Championships. She believes that there is potential in every skater, and she helps individuals, coaches, teams and leagues establish the timeline that is best suited for them to reach their key goals. When attending a session with Smarty you are guaranteed to walkaway with an entirely new learning experience and approach to whichever concept you are focusing on. Smarty's team the Texecutioners ended 2013 as the No. 2 team in the WFTDA. Smarty was voted 2013 Skater of the Year by Derby News Network.
Saturday Training Hours
10am-5pm (1 hour lunch)
Sunday Training Hours
9am-3pm (1 hour lunch)
This bootcamp is open to men and women age 18 and older. Each participant must sign a waiver of liability and have full protective gear which includes: elbow and knee pads, wrist guards, a helmet, a mouth guard and quad roller skates.
The fine print:
Please print out your ticket or purchase confirmation and bring that paperwork to the clinic as proof of payment for your admission.
Doors will open 30 minutes prior to training start time each day. Please arrive early so training can start on time.
Participation is entirely voluntary and at one's own risk. EMT's will not be on site, but there are are hospitals and fire departments in the immediate vicinity.
