Talking with Your Kids About Sex
Parenting is an ongoing struggle, especially when it comes to tough topics like sex and sexuality. How much should my child know? What information is age appropriate? How do I keep my kid safe? How do I handle talking about things that I am uncomfortable with? All of these questions are common ones that parents face.
Join Brooke Norton, Certified Sex Educator, as she addresses all your questions. All parents to attend, regardless of their personal values about sex and sexuality. "All value systems will be honored and respected," says Brooke. "My whole mission is just to encourage parents to start thinking about how they want to guide their children, and then to get them to start talking as well," she added. Other topics that we will discuss include: body image, technology, puberty, sexual identity, and gender issues. Parents who are considering attending should be advised not to bring their children along to this parents-only event.
The academy is a venue for learning. We welcome individuals of every experience level, orientation, gender, body type, singles, couples and all. The only requirement is that students be 18 years or older.
All classes happen in the beautiful, dedicated learning space within the Pleasure Chest, on the upper east side of Manhattan.
