Event
Evening with Swami Beyondananda
Cosmic Comic Swami Beyondananda Brings His Evolutionary Up-Wising to Arcata Friday, April 18 starting at 7:00 p.m.
Who Is the Swami? He's the Only Political Guru to Channel Both Bulwinkle AND Elvis!
As anyone who follows the news can attest, we are living in serious times. The antidote? Serious laughter. Take it from the Swami himself: "The best way to overcome gravity is with levity."
Following the Swami's comedy performance Humboldt County Move To Amend will sponsor a "post event social" featuring local musical talent, beer/wine and food sales and a raffle. Great time to practice the Swami's FUNdamentalism. Mingle with friends and meet new ones! This social is included in the cost of admission.
Swami Beyondananda brings his laugh-filled cosmic comedy show to The Arcata Playhouse on Friday, April 18, 2014 as part of his Wake Up Laughing tour. The Swami espouses a new non-religion called FUNdamentalism (accent on "fun"), and a political movement called the Right to Laugh Party ("one big party, everyone is invited"). Swami's performance has been described both as "comedy disguised as wisdom," and "wisdom disguised as comedy." Which is it? Go see him, and then you decide.
Here's a hint ...
His more serious alter ego is Steve Bhaerman, one time political scientist and co-author (with spiritual luminary Deepak Chopra, political commentator Thom Hartmann, and cellular biologist, Bruce Lipton.) Their works have been called "world-changing." The good news is, both Steve and Swami are coming to Arcata!
On Friday evening, April 18, you'll get a chance to experience Swami's wacky wisdom, and delightful and hilarious comedy. At the event, Steve will be signing copies of his book, "Spontaneous Evolution: Our Positive Future and a Way to Get There From Here." Spontaneous Evolution offers a heartening view of humanity's future, based on the latest science and ancient wisdom.
Swami appears on Friday night April 18 at The Arcata Playhouse. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the show begins at 7:00 p.m. Event includes food/beer/wine sales and a raffle. After the performance there is live music by local talent Sara Torres, Bill Holmes and The Mad River Rounders.
Advanced sales tickets and all students and seniors tickets are $20; regular admission tickets at the door are $25.
So If you love to laugh -- or, if you need to -- don't miss the opportunity to get struck by enlightening and laugh till the sacred cows come home.
