Friend-Raiser at Reverie Retreat
We are excited to announce our second annual friend-raiser event at Reverie Retreat in Garden Valley, CA.
Highlights for the weekend include the second annual Rubber Ducky Race, a Schwank cocktail party (a la old skool campout style), and delicious meals (provided by the Reverie crew). This event will also be the debut of the Illuminaughty Talent show. That's right people, dust off your sequined onesies and polish your spurs...it's time for you to let your talent shine! Our intention for the weekend is to share this sweet space with our friends and family, and showcase a taste of what we plan to offer over the coming years as we develop the business of Reverie Retreat.
This will be a camping event; we will provide outdoor showers, indoor and outdoor toilets and sink facilities, and all of your food for the weekend. Each guest will be provided with a rubber duck, one drink ticket, and all meals. This is a kid friendly event. If you plan on bringing your 4-legged kid, check in with one of us first so we can go over the ground rules.
Events:
Rubber Ducky Race: We will have a workstation with a power supply set up for you to augment your ducky in any way you wish, but you must come prepared with your own augmentations and tools. The only rule: no fire. There will be an awards ceremony for the top three contestants in the following categories: creativity, most colossal disaster, and the first ducky to cross the finish line.
Schwank cocktail party: for those of you that have been in this circle for a while, you know the drill. If this concept is new to you it goes like this: bring your formal or your funky attire for an evening cocktail party. As mentioned above, you will each receive one complimentary beverage. Our signature cocktail will feature produce from our own land, and there will be wine and beer from local producers.
Talent show: we want to see what you come up with for this one! Caveat--this is a family event, so please plan your act accordingly.
Services:
Massage: a very limited number of massage spots are available at a rate of $80/hour; please let us know if you would like one of these spots.
Food: Afternoon snacks and dinner on Saturday, breakfast, lunch and dinner Sunday; and breakfast, brunch and afternoon snacks on Monday included.
Beverages: One complimentary drink per adult during Schwank
Investment for the weekend:
$150/adult (early bird, before May 9th), $175/adult (regular), kids 10-17: $45, kids under 10 free.

About Reverie Retreat: Reverie Retreat is 32 acres of seclusion located in the Sierra foothills on the Georgetown Divide, approximately 8 miles north of Placerville, within an hour's drive from Sacramento and a 2.5 hour drive from San Francisco. The property boasts stunning views to the west with spectacular sunsets and a full view of the night sky. At 2,200 feet in elevation Reverie has hot summers (average temps in the low 90s in July and August) and mild winters, enabling a bountiful year-round garden and a multitude of fruit trees to flourish. Nearly the entire property is shaded by large heritage oaks as well as a diverse mix of conifers, giving visitors a pleasant respite from the heat in the summer, vivid foliage in the fall, and lots of habitat for birds and other wildlife. Two ponds and a stream provide the opportunity for swimming, fishing, or dunking your feet in the cool delicious water. We are within a burgeoning wine region and a five minute drive from the south fork of the American River as well as within close proximity to several smaller rivers and lakes in the area.
Founding members of Reverie Retreat: Tamara Johnston, Ramon Fliek, Stan Barrett and Liz Williams. Our collective skills include massage and physical therapy, yoga, acrobatics, bicycle mechanics, woodworking, gardening, design, fundraising, and IT services. We are excited and inspired to create a true retreat for family, friends, and friends we have yet to make. So come, join us for a weekend, and see what Reverie Retreat has to offer!
