Gigantic Bicycle Festival
Gigantic Bicycle Festival is the Pacific Northwest's annual summer celebration of bicycle culture. The three day, mid-August festival features a diverse, multifaceted and regionally representative mix of live music, hand-built bicycles, visual & performance art, film, comedy, guest speakers, sculpture, interactive installation, NW makers, brews, and camping.
The 2014 festival features performances by Menomena, Telekinesis, Hey Marseilles, The Moondoggies, Anomie Belle, Moraine, NoRey, Blue Skies for Black Hearts, Gibraltar, Brite Lines, dj sets by KEXP DJ Riz, KBCS djs Gregory D'Elia and Sharron Stevens, and many more!
Many festival goers arrive at the grounds via bicycle along supported (and highly praised) century and 77 mile road rides. Riders depart from Seattle's Magnuson Park early Saturday morning, to arrive at the festival grounds that afternoon. Rider registration includes a weekend festival pass and a 2014 Gigantic Bicycle Festival jersey, made by Primal Wear with artwork by Jeff Langevin.
Monthly art installations and film screenings begin in April, presenting previews to August and taking over venues and gallery spaces across Washington and Oregon.
