Pirates of Penzance at Marylhurst University
"The question is: had he not been a thing of beauty would she be swayed by quite as keen a sense of duty?"
Gilbert and Sullivan's immortal comedy THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE: OR, THE SLAVE OF DUTY follows on the heels of last spring's runaway hit production of H.M.S PINAFORE.
A brilliant tale of mistaken identity, rollicking pirates, bumbling policeman, and impossible love, PIRATES is one of Gilbert and Sullivan's most sparkling, riotously funny works.
Directed by former D'Oyly Carte cast member Alistair Donkin from England, returning to Marylhurst after his triumphant production of PINAFORE. Musically Directed by Dr. Justin Smith, Director of Choral Activities at Marylhurst University.
