The SETTING: Rothko's dimly lit studio at 222 Bowery, New York City
The CHALLENGE: Paint a series of murals for the newly opened Four Seasons Restuarant in the Seagram Building without feeling that you have sold your artistic soul for a $35,000.00 check- the largest commission paid to any artist at that time!
Mark Rothko has just hired a new studio assistant, Ken, to help him met his deadline.
