PARKERZALOOZA 2013: DEATH IS CLOSER THAN EVER
Dear Friends and Acquaintances,
Another year has passed, the earth has probably rotated around the sun or something to that effect and my balls continue to drop just to prove that gravity does in fact exist.
In other words it's time once again for another PARKERZALOOZA celebrating my demise with some great bands, some cheap drinks and some great friends.
The date is Saturday June 8th and this year it's at Light Rail Studios (www.lightrailstudios.com) in San Francisco's Bayshore district. Doors at 7pm. Show at 8pm sharp. There is easy access from highway 101, the Mission, and Bernal Heights. Tons of free parking and five amazing bands. Admission is $12 advance. I have yet to decide if there will be an increase at the door so why fucking risk it, eh?
To Witness (in order of appearance):
Little Quuenie: Oaklands finest purveyors of double bass scuzz punk. They will set the table for all who follow. You have been warned.
BNLX: From Minneapolis, Ed Ackerson has been churning out indie rock bliss since his band Polara in the 90's. This is their bay area debut and you DO NOT want to miss them.
Surprise Guest: All I can say is that they are playing in SF the night before and Oakland the day after. Their debut release is one of 2013's best records PERIOD. They are from Brooklyn via Austin and they will blow you away with their live show. They are stoned and they are starving.I can't advertise them, but I can tell you if you contact me. I am peeing myself in anticipation. Or it's just my age.
Hot Lunch: From San Francisco and recently signed to Tee Pee records, come have your face melted by one of the City's most righteous rawwwk bands.
Malice Cooper (Tribute To Alice Cooper): What kick ass birthday party doesn't have an Alice Cooper cover band? Not mine. San Francisco's finest Alice tribute band will close out the night singing all of Alice's classics with an amazing stage show to boot.
There will also be some other surprises to make this one for the ages!
I would LOVE to see all of you there. And if for some reason you cannot attend, buying a $12 ticket makes a wonderful contribution to the bands and an excellent birthday gift!
