HOME: An Improvised Drama
HOME is a fifty-minute improvised play fueled by the infinite possibilities that only improvised theater can provide. Ten scenes, five characters, three entrances, and one story are brought to life by a cast of veteran improvisers and actors. The back story is known, however a different play unfolds each night revealing a unique comedy and/or drama. HOME was originally created in Chicago from the critically shows Play and HERO, which ran for years. Critical praise for HERO includes:
"It takes risk-taking abandon to build a character beyond a series of punchlines." --Nina Metz
"The actors are relaxed enough to carefully build their characters...that understand how to inhabit a manufactured world with total confidence." -- NewCity Stage
HOME was also inspired by the improvised TJ and Dave show and the BlackBox studio method.
