Antagonistics: 19th Century Fighting Arts
Join us for the Third Annual Antagonistics Weekend! Learn about 19th century fighting arts in North America in both the cities and the frontier. Topics include the early 19th-century Bowie knife and how it got its name, and the fierce Irish faction fighting of the mid-19th century - the infamous "Gangs of New York. Bartitsu and other 19th-century civilian arts will be explored. Shillelagh and/or walking stick self-defense will be taught on BOTH days. No martial arts experience required. A study in self-defense and in history.
