Veterans For Peace Fundraising Concert with Jim Page and Tom Neilson
Greater Seattle Veterans For Peace, presents a fundraising concert with two excellent folk singers, Jim Page of Seattle and Tom Neilson of Greenfield, Massachusetts.
Jim Page, has been performing in coffee houses and stages in the Northwest for 40 years. Jim has been wowing audiences with his original songwriting and inspired singing. "A master of the craft of song writing, a wicked guitar player, and the most relevant topical musician of his day", said the Earth First Journal. His songs bring humor, irony, and biting satire to exposing the absurdities of our times.
Jim has shared the stage with the likes of Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Michelle Shocked, John Hammond and Leftover Salmon to name a few. His songs have been performed by the Doobie Brothers, David Soul, and others.
Tom Neilson, winner of the Independent Music Awards People's Choice Award, plays at music festivals, union halls, universities, conferences, cafes, and at political and social gatherings. The veteran folk singer Tom Paxton has said about Tom, "This is very good music. And very good politics". Tom has performed at the Washington Cathedral, New York City's Town Hall, Boston's Symphony Hall, New England Conservatory of Music and El Centro Memorial Martin Luther King, Jr. in Havana, Cuba. His music has been included in eight documentary films.
The evening promises to provide a good dose of humor and politics with great music.
Doors open at 6:30 PM. Online ticket sales will end at 3 PM on July 27. Remaining tickets, if any, will be available at the event.
