Shelter Island Historical Society House Tour 2013

Water and Woods

The Shelter Island Historical Society presents "Water and Woods," a tour of contemporary and historic homes on July 13, 2013, from 2-5 pm. The tour features "Clearhouse," a glass and steel minimalist masterpiece which cantilevers over treetops to offer panoramic views of Peconic Bay. Several other contemporary homes integrate innovative design and use large expanses of glass to give a feeling of light and space. Complementing the modernist architecture, a classic 1880 Colonial Revival overlooks Dering Harbor and provides a glimpse of an earlier era.

Tickets: $40 (tax deductible)
Tickets can also be purchased on day of tour at door.

Tour starts at Havens House Barn, 16 South Ferry Road (Route 114)
Maps and House Tour brochure will be provided.
Light refreshments will be offered.

Houses are within biking distance.
