Adapted by Tim Kelly from the classic by Lewis Carroll Directed by David B. Sousa
Based on the classic book by Lewis Carroll, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" finds Alice in a land of talking animals, comic royalty, and races where the contestants run in circles. There are also the Mad Hatter's frantic tea party, the watch-carrying White Rabbit, and chattering flowers. The play gives a modern view to an old classic, where nonsense makes quite good sense. Director David B. Sousa brings the story into a video game-inspired world where even life-size puppets take the stage!
"There's a lot of game imagery in the story," said Sousa, "and Alice moves through Wonderland a lot like a video game character. The setting seems natural." "This is a play that will appeal to young kids as well as teens and even adults," added NBYT Executive Director and Producer Darren Farrington, adding also that the show stars children ages 7 through 16 and is appropriate for audiences of all ages. The cast of over fifty children has come together from New Britain, Berlin, Bloomfield, Bristol, Farmington, Meriden, Middletown, New Haven, Plainville, Southington, West Hartford, Willington, and Wolcott.
