ABOUT THE TRAINING
Think about the last time when you were in conflict with someone. What comes up for you? You might feel an immediate tightness in your chest, your breathing might get shallow, or you may feel a surge of anger or sadness. Conflict can have physical and emotional impact and will affect our health and well-being. Learning to work with conflict is a wellness issue.
We live in a very litigious society and disputes are often handed over to advocates and the final decision is made by a judge. Such conflict systems discourage cooperation and encourage positional stances. We cease to understand one another. We lose sight of options as we become more invested in the outcome and getting our way. Alternately, we may just give up and disengage, avoiding the conflict altogether. All of this can take a physical and emotional toll.
This 4-hour training will explore conflict through games, theory, exercises, and discussions. You will gain an awareness of your own conflict reactions and understand how your approach may influence a dispute. You will learn alternative ways to resolving conflicts. By increasing your skills and awareness you will learn to engage with conflict in a new way.
Working with conflicts means bringing wellness and peace into our lives, communities, and the world. Please join us.
