"Spitwater Trilogy" Benefit for the Pride Foundation and Natalie Baker
Stage Coach Theatre is graciously allowing us to hold showings of the "Spitwater Trilogy" on May 11th and 18th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $10. McLeary's Pub will be on hand to offer drinks for purchase. Benefits from the screenings will go to the Pride Foundation and the family of Natalie Baker.
"The Spitwater Trilogy" is about what happens to a sleepy, small town called Spitwater after the Drifter walks in from the north. The Drifter (no other name) befriends the loyal and skittish Billy (no last name), along with the enterprising and family-oriented Ms. Keelhaul (no first name) to oppose the genetically-modified produce farmer and patent owner, Ogden, the profit-driven fight club owner, The Capitalist, and the Praying Mantis, a dark being from an earlier time. Along the way the three battle with their fists, feet and any and all, other, available weapons to save each other, their homes and the world.
This is a full-on spoof movie that, somehow, becomes more genuine as it goes along.
Think "Airplane," but with white guy kung fu flicks.
This movie, were it rated, would be rated R for suggestive language, situations and some violence.
That being said, it's a hell of a fun movie produced with bucket loads of over-qualified and indispensable members of the cast and crew and we hope you come to see it to support these two great causes.
Founded in 1985, Pride Foundation inspires a culture of generosity that connects and strengthens Northwest organizations, leaders, and students who are creating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Queer (LGBTQ) Equality in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington state. In Idaho alone in 2012, Pride Foundation awarded $24,000 in grants and sponsorships, and awarded more than $36,000 to Idaho scholars.

Natalie Baker is a 5-year-old Boise girl who was diagnosed with epilepsy at 17 months. Natalie was born happy and healthy and met all of her milestones until her first seizure appeared. Her family has never found a clear diagnosis or reason for her seizures and all of Natalie's MRI's have shown no brain abnormalities. They tried to treat her seizures with medication and specialized diet, but nothing worked until she underwent a right functional hemispherectomy in November. Her seizures have decreased dramatically but she faces a long recovery. The money raised at these events will go toward a therapeutic tricycle for Natalie.
