Special tour, shopping and lunch? What could be better? Join Local Tourist SoCal and Passport 2 History on a special Third Saturday event!
Arrive at 10:45 am at the Leonis Adobe in Calabasas (23537 Calabasas Road, Calabasas, CA 91302 (818) 222-6511) to sign in and receive your Passport. At 11:00, we will get a special look at the historic Leonis Adobe, made infamous by Miguel Leonis, a basque-french native who used deceit, trickery and the Los Angeles court system to amass a great amount of lands in the late 1800s. Also on the grounds of the Leonis Adobe is the Plummer House, originally located in the heart of Los Angeles, a beautiful Victorian home saved from destruction and moved to this location.
For the animal lovers out there, meet Fred and Ginger Asteer, two of the long-horn steers that make the Adobe their home, Merlin and Morgan, two beautiful percheron horses and a host of goats, sheep, quail, chickens, roosters, turkeys and the incredible cat staff that roam the grounds.
Next, enjoy an hour of shopping at the Certified Calabasas Farmer's Market just across the street. Treat yourself to fresh fruit and produce as well as a host of other fun stuff, like jewelry, paintings, hats and beauty products and if you aren't careful get treated to samples of some of your favorite treats.
After such excitement, sit down to a wonderful relaxing lunch hosted by the Sagebrush Cantina on their lovely patio overlooking the farmer's market and right next to the Leonis Adobe. Sagebrush Cantina has been the gracious provider of some of the prizes given to those who get the required amount of stamps in their passport. Get a first hand glimpse of what you could be enjoying after you collect those stamps.
Ticket prices are $30 per person (purchase at Brown Bag Tickets online) or $35 at the door, which includes a Passport, tour of the Leonis Adobe and lunch (meal, one non-alcoholic beverage, tax and gratuity included).
Lunch choices are Vegetarian Wrap, Thai Chicken Wrap, Sagebrush Tostada Salad (beef or chicken), Original Sagebrush Burrito (beef or chicken), Mexican Pizza or BLT & A.
