Petaluma, CA (March 20, 2013) Aqus Community, North Bay's only organization devoted entirely to community-building, announces the 2013 AQUS FOUNDRY FESTIVAL benefiting COTS Committee on the Shelterless at The Foundry Wharf, 189 H Street, Petaluma on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from 11:30-7pm
This day-long music festival has a knockout lineup of local and regional musicians, including; Lauren O'Connell, Foxes in the Henhouse, The Incubators, Side O' Smokehouse and The Mighty Groove. Headlining will be The Rowan Brothers whose musical journey began over 30 years ago on Columbia Records and include subsequent collaborations with David Grisman, the Grateful Dead, Phil Lesh and so many others.
New to the festival this year, Mark Rennick, owner of Prairie Sun Live is bringing his expertise, sound engineers and state-of-the-art equipment to raise the bar in this outdoor concert production. Prairie Sun Live will be bringing the quality of recording studio sound to a live audience.
As in past years, hundreds will be in attendance to enjoy a relaxing day on the expansive lawn with friends and family. Everything about this festival is easy-going, from the ample parking, shady birch trees and lazy river views. As the music plays, the hardest choice is whether to lounge on a blanket, dance in the grass, or wander to the vendors for some local shopping, maybe food, beer, wine.
As with previous years, this event is designed to help raise greatly-needed funds for COTS Committee on the Shelterless. COTS has been recognized nationally for its' award-winning and cost-effective programs to break the cycle of homelessness for both children and adults. A powerful blend of nurturing and structure, COTS has helped thousands get back under a roof of their own. COTS provides almost 350 beds every night. Their Petaluma Kitchen serves over 124,000 meals a year and delivers over 750,000 pounds of food annually. COTS is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization.
"We love putting this [festival] on with COTS because it reaffirms what we're doing in our community at large," says John Crowley, of Aqus Community. "It's all about supporting each other and whether you're supporting a local business or helping someone whose lost everything we are all connected."
The Aqus Foundry Festival kicks off at 11:30am on the River Stage, with seven hours of entertainment from favorite local acts. The Foundry Wharf, 189 H Street, Petaluma, CA 94952.
