Taiko 101: Introductory Taiko Drumming Workshop
Don Don Don Don, those are the heart pounding sounds of the Japanese art form of Taiko drumming that fill the air during the summer festival season in Japan and now America. Let the festive sound of taiko embrace your heart as you exercise your mind and body in this one hour introductory workshop led by Melody Takata of Genryu Arts. In this one hour workshop you will:
* Learn the history of the Taiko
* Play basic rhythms and beats
* Watch a taiko demonstration by Genryu Arts
So come to the JCCCNC to learn this cultural art form and relieve some stress while you're at it!
