The LiveGLOCAL Foundation is excited to unveil its 2013 benchmark project, Jhai Coffee House, serving the developing region of Paksong, Laos.  

The Jhai Coffee House is the world's first completely philanthropic coffee roaster and café. As a city known for innovative, social-minded socialites, Seattle has been chosen to host JHAI's first-ever fundraising event.  


What makes this event different:



The LiveGLOCAL Foundation is NOT your traditional nonprofit. The LiveGLOCAL team does not simply SPEND gifted dollars they INVEST them, back into the communities they serve using the model of social business to ensure each project they fund serves a big-picture purpose, rather than a short-term fix.  Jhai Coffee House will be the first-of-its-kind, 100% philanthropic social business with all profits invested into sanitary education and clean water projects for the local Lao coffee community.

This LiveGLOCAL event will celebrate Laos' history and the Social Business model - the most innovative form of philanthropy - empowering developing nations with the tools to create a sustainable economy.

All attendees will become founders in this exciting project and will change the way you think about philanthropy forever.


What to expect:



The evening will go from 7-11pm with a multi-media reception, beer & wine, gourmet hors d'oeuvres and silent/live auction. Tickets are $35 for general admission and $55 for VIP. All VIP ticket holders will receive a bottomless (all-you-can-drink) commemorative MiiR coffee tumbler. Special guests from MiiR, will also will be in attendance to share how they are 'Designing to Empower,' through their own Social Business, founded in Seattle, WA.

Our emcee for the night will be, MovingWorlds.org co-founder,  Mark Horoszowski.

Members from the Kinnaly Music & Dance Troupe of the Lao Heritage Foundation will be performing traditional Lao entertainment.
