Answers to eternal questions in sacred texts of all religions shed light on beliefs about the relationship between oneself, the creation around us and the ultimate Creator. For Hindus, questions on faith, morality and conduct answered in ancient texts are still relevant as demonstrated in the life lived by Gandhi, and earlier by saints and rishis, and even Bhagwan Ram as documented in Ramayana. Prakash Narain parsed such a wealth of knowledge, as a prism to spread the spectrum of ancient scriptures, to anyone who knew him.
In her solo dance performance, Rashi Narain expresses her understanding and appreciation of the depth of Indian culture and the subtle nuances of religion that guided his life. These ideas find voices in seven dances--their intimate connection to his "temple of knowledge" the human mind. "Prakash" mirrors his life as portrayed by subtle, graceful and sophisticated reflections.
