Basic Videography Workshop: Northwest Oral History Association Presents
Matt Simek, accomplished videographer and member of Northwest Oral History Association will lead a basic videography workshop for Portland area members and friends on Saturday, June 1st, 2013. The workshop is planned as a three to four hours span of time and will cover many areas of basic videography. Matt has asked that we keep the content somewhat flexible to ensure the best quality in relation to the number of attendees. Content of the workshop is currently planned to include a show and tell of some inferior techniques and better methods; ways to shoot an interview and how to choose equipment and locations; what to do with the raw interview (how to process, transcribe, and edit into a cohesive story); a few items on how improving interview skills; varieties of equipment and their pros and cons. The workshop location is: 5520 N.E. Glisan Portland, OR 97213 and will begin around 9:00 AM and end near 1:00 PM, depending on questions and attendee interests. A simple lunch will be provided. The price is a mere $35 for non-members and $25 to current NOHA members + an electronic processing fee of approximately $2.00. Registration is limited to a maximum of 30 participants. This valuable workshop will cancelled if the attendance minimum has not been reached by mid-May.
