Behind the Scenes Tour
The Richardson Olmsted Complex has undergone $10 million in stabilization activities since 2006 to prevent further deterioration and vandalism. Work includes structural shoring of weak buildings, sealing of exterior wall openings, installation of site lighting, emergency tree work, and abatement and cleaning. Learn about the work that has been done, how the work was determined, and challenges encountered along the way.
This two hour guided tour will take you to all the spaces included on the Welcome Tour plus behind the scenes additional spaces in the Towers Building 45 and Building 10 (immediately east of the Towers Building), and the rare access to Building 44, immediately west of the Towers Buildings, since the plaster was removed due to asbestos. In addition, there will be an up close look at the exterior stabilization work on the western ward buildings.
