Portland Chamber Music Festival: Mozart, Thomas Adès and Spohr
Our summer season ends with this colorful program featuring Mozart's Horn Quintet, a delightful and unusual work for horn, violin, two violas, and cello. Many of you may have seen The Metropolitan Opera's HD Broadcast of Thomas Ades's "The Tempest" this season, and his "Court Studies" is a suite of pieces from the opera. Our Twentieth Anniversary Season concludes with most of the week's performers onstage for our first performance of the virtuosic 1813 Nonet of Louis Spohr.
