Straight P.A.T.H. Concert featuring Joshua Salaam of Native Deen
Join us on Sunday, May 19, 2013, 12 noon 5 pm for the Straight P.A.T.H. Festival and Concert with performances by local youth, and featuring Joshua Salaam of NATIVE DEEN, the internationally acclaimed Muslim music group. The concert will be held at Charles Farnsworth Park, 568 East Mount Curve Avenue, Altadena, CA 91001. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 day of the show.
"Deen" in Arabic means "religion" or "way of life." Native Deen comprises Joshua Salaam, Naeem Muhammad, and Abdul-Malik Ahmad, young Muslim men who were born and raised in the District of Columbia. Their music seeks to inspire young people to keep their Islamic faith amid the pressures and temptations of daily life. Their music typifies the subgenre "positive hip-hop." They're the perfect expression of our event theme - The Straight P.A.T.H. (Positive Actions Through Harmony).
Doors Open at 12:00 noon, and the show starts at 1:00 p.m. Come enjoy the beautiful setting of Farnsworth Park, shop the vendor area, enjoy refreshments for sale while you mix and mingle. And enjoy an intimate indoor concert, with the opportunity to meet the artists after the show.

This event is the 6th Annual Invited Guest series of the Education Committee of Masjid Al-Taqwa, Altadena, CA. Proceeds will benefit the Masjid's Scholarship fund and other educational programs.
