(Viroqua, WI)Before2016 Natty Nation neverperformeda full "acoustic" set. Eddy Nix, owner of Driftless Books & Musicin Viroqua, WI asked them to headline the kickoff event for the newly formed Wisconsin Roots Music Cooperative. As members of the Cooperative,Natty decided to close out the event like all of the other acts who had performed all day long, and unplug.

For the last 22 years Natty Nation always puts on a full on rock show, with big distorted guitars, synthesizers, organs, booming electric bass, and most importantly a full 5-8 piece drum kit.For the Coop kickoff event, and then a few choice concerts after that, theydecided to ditch all of that to create a more intimate experience.By breaking it down with an "acoustic" delivery they emphasizedthe meaning behind the lyrics, plus placing more focus on the nuances of their vocal harmonies, their often complex arrangements, andtheirsolos.

With the excitement and volume of a normal Natty show it's easy for lyrics to fly by, unnoticed. In this setting, fans hearlead singer and bassist JAH Boogie's messagesshiningthrough.Topics ranging fromhuman rights, gun violence, mass incarceration, universal spirituality, Rastafari, meditation, yoga, metaphysics, ancient Egyptian mythology, the importance of community, and much morebecome more focused in this setting.

"When we decided to focus on this low-volume, 'unplugged' version of our set, we knew immediately where we wanted to document it. Right where it all started: Driftless Books," said Aaron Konkol, keyboards, vocals and melodica. The performance will be videotaped for future release. from releasing a video or two of the best songs on YouTube to releasing a full live album and video of the entire performance. "We always have a great time in the driftless area, Tim Foss's Fosstival, Organic Valley's Kickapoo Country Fair, People Fest, and obviously Driftless Books & Music. The community has really embraced us, and we couldn't think of a better place to immortalize this experience."

The show starts at7:30 PM, but it would behoove attendees to show up when doors open at7:00 PMto grab a good seat and settle in. Tickets are available online via Brown Paper Tickets, and at Driftless Books & Music.
