52 Letters at Regina's Door
52 Letters is a  poetic stage play, written and performed by Oakland, Ca Native Regina Y. Evans. Through the use of poetry and Negro Spirituals, 52 Letters brings awareness to the tragedy of sex trafficking and its effects upon American youth and women. 52 Letters is honored to officially welcome Artist/Activist Jahniah Omi Bahari Amaranth who will live sing all spirituals during the performance.

In his review of 52 Letters, SF Chronicle Theater Critic, Robert Hurwitt, wrote, "Evans, who opens her solo on a slave auction block - large male handprints all over her arms - calls herself an Abolitionist. The slavery she's combatting with impressive performance skills, concentrated poetry and moral fervor is the invidious plague of child rape, here and elsewhere. A mesmerizing blend of scathing personal stories, incantatory phrases, artful oratory and movement, this is theater as essential wake-up call."

52 Letters was honored to win Best of SF Fringe Festival, 2013 and has since been performed at venues such as the Flight Deck, (Oakland, Ca), The Marsh Theater (SF), 2015 Freedom Summit (Santa Clara, Ca), Merritt College (Oakland, Ca), Stanford University (Stanford, Ca), Eliza's Pearl Arthouse (Oakland, Ca), UC Berkeley Conference on Human Trafficking (Berkeley, Ca), Love Don't Hurt Trafficking Awareness Community Event (Oakland, Ca), Rescue Is Not Enough Trafficking Awareness Event (San Jose, Ca), YWCA of Silicon Valley Anti Trafficking Freedom Week Event (San Jose, Ca), DIVAS Tell All series (The EXIT Theatre, SF, CA), and the 2013 DIVAfest, (EXIT Theatre, SF, CA).

Regina Evans is an Abolitionist in the fight against Modern Day Slavery, as well as the owner of Regina's Door, an Oakland based social enterprise vintage clothing store which operates as a sanctuary space for survivors of sex trafficking, homeless youth and young artists. Regina's Door was named 2015 Social Changemaker, Oakland Indie Awards, 2016 Nancy's Hero (Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O'Malley), and received a 2017 Oakland City Council Commendation in celebration of Small Business Week. Ms. Evans is a member of SHADE (Survivors, Healing, and Dedicated to Empowerment), the Mayor of Oakland's CSEC Task Force and the CSEC Program Council/Claire's House Safehouse (Catholic Charities).

Jahniah Omi Bahari Amaranth is spoken-word artist, musician, singer/songwriter, dancer, and photographer. The Rasta style flower-child was born in Berkeley and raised in Oakland. She was blessed with the Lord's gifts of creation and artistry. Art and music has always been a part of her family life. Her father, the late and great Saa'lyd Bahari, was a musician/artist, and her beautiful mother, Indirah, is an artist/dancer. From a very young age her parents encouraged her to maintain a creative spirit and the ability to express herself. Connect with her at the following:
