SF BAY CLASSICAL GUITAR FESTIVAL & COMPETITION 2017
Date: Saturday December 2, 2017
Location: First Lutheran Church, 600 Homer Avenue, Palo Alto, California 94301

All events are free to the public. $20 donations are requested at each event. Competitors must pay competition fee.

FESTIVAL SCHEDULE - December 2, 2017
11:00 am to 12:30pm - Youth Competition
12:00pm to 2:00pm - Masterclass with Bradly Pupa
2:00pm to 4:30pm - Adult Competition
5:00pm to 5:45pm - Concert - Jack Cimo and Larry Aynesmith
Free Time
7:30pm to 9:00pm - Concert featuring Bradly Pupa, 1st Prize Winner of the 2017 Sierra Nevada Classical Guitar Competition
Adult and Youth Competition winners will be announced at intermission of evening concert.

ADULT COMPETITION 1st PRIZE WINNER
Prize will include a new build Carpathian Spruce
and Indian Rosewood Classical Guitar valued at $6000.00
donated by fantastic San Francisco luthier SEAN SPURLING

ADULT COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS
Adult Competitors must pay a non-refundable $75.00 registration fee via the link on this page. As of November 25, 2017 late registration fee of $125.00 will go into effect. No further application form is required.

Prizes:
1st - Guitar by San Francisco luthier SEAN SPURLING,
new build valued at $6000.00, plus $250
2nd - $150, 3rd - $75

Judges: David Norton, Chair, others tba

Open to guitarists ages 18 or older as of the day of the
competition.

Competition is for performance on six string Classical Guitar

Time limits: One Round, 7 minutes each

Choice of repertoire is entirely up to the performer. It is expected that every competitor's choice of music fits within the time allowed. If a competitor exceeds the given time allotted, he or she will be asked to stop with no penalty to his or her evaluation.

Competitors will be evaluated on technique, musicianship, and overall presentation.

Competitors may inquire for comments by judges only after the competition has ended. Upon such requests, sharing comments with performers is at the sole discretion of the judges.

All decisions of judges are final.

Competitors should not be touring artists with major management. Admission to the competition is at the sole discretion of the Sierra Nevada Guitar Festival staff.

Foreign competition winners are subject to 30% withholding of competition prize amount.
