Alasdair Fraser and Natalie Haas
The musical partnership of consummate fiddler Alasdair Fraser and the brilliant cellist Natalie Haas spans the full spectrum from intimate chamber music to ecstatic dance energy. Fraser's extraordinary career of over 35 years has been built on stage performances and recordings; radio, television, and top movie soundtracks; and global teaching contributions through his legendary fiddle camps, master classes, and workshops. In 2011, he was inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame.

A musical and cultural force of nature, Alasdair fulfilled one of his dreams by finding a cellist who could help return the cello to its historical role at the rhythmic heart of Scottish dance music, where it stood for hundreds of years before being relegated to the orchestra. Natalie Haas, a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music and one of today's most sought after cellists, has performed and recorded with many of the world's most outstanding traditional and progressive string musicians and ensembles. Together, Alasdair and Natalie have thrilled and amazed audiences for the last 16 years with their world-famous, electrifying, not-to-miss performances, from rustic community halls to grand concert venues.

On October 26th, 2017, Fraser and Haas will bring their impeccable musicianship and stunning repertoire to Gainesville, Florida, for a 7:00 pm concert in the historic Thomas Center, www.historicthomascenter.org, an intimate venue where limited seating quickly sells out. Advance concert tickets are available here for $25 (plus a small service fee for Brown Paper).  (Support for this concert is provided by the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs Department, a CAPRA-accredited agency.)

And, if thats not enough, you can participate in an intensive, 3-hour workshop led by these gifted teachers the following evening, October 27th, also in Gainesville. This event also is posted on Brown Paper Tickets, at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3097325
