Rubber Boots Workshop -- Raising Meat Birds: Organic from Day 1
Scratch and Peck Feeds Launches New Farmer-to-Farmer Program
To help the regional food movement thrive, we are hosting on-farm workshops to tackle operational challenges for new and seasoned farmers who are raising organic livestock. We're working with regional farmers to utilize heritage and innovative farming practices and to help secure a thriving regional food system.
The Rubber Boots Workshops is a lineup of farmer-to-farmer educational events where both new and seasoned farmers share knowledge on topics such as how to raise and process organic meat birds, ferment whole grain feeds, ensure that local markets can support high-quality eggs, and sprout whole grains for nutritious animal foods. The goal of the workshops is to help farmers overcome operating obstacles, learn best practices, and be successful feeding their animals wholesome organic food. The workshops will be presented by farmers who are using organic whole grains and feeds in innovative ways and have developed farming efficiencies.
We are a company that wants to change the way food is made and shape the future of US agriculture so that it is sustainable, feeds a healthy population, and regenerates the earth rather than depletes it. That requires intentional sourcing and innovative thinkers.
