Beyond the Ask: Building Stronger Relationships with Foundations with Joanne Florino
Starting with the first cold phone call and working through letters of inquiry, formal proposals, site visits, grant approvals and declines, and final reports and other follow-up, you are creating a track record of impressions. Understanding the common dos and donts and asking all the right questions (and none of the wrong ones) will significantly improve your odds of success.

In this presentation, well take an informative  and at times light-hearted  look at the barriers to successful communication between foundations and their grantees. Drawing on published reports about foundation expectations and grantee perceptions, as well as on the presenter's 30 years of experience and knowledge, this workshop will offer insights and practical advice about how to make your best case for foundation funding and how to create a successful partnership with private funders.

Anyone registering for this workshop may submit one question ahead of time to the presenter through the Human Services Coalition (registration@hsctc.org). All questions submitted will be addressed during the workshop. This is voluntary and confidentiality regarding the source of the questions will be strictly observed.
