Boston-based uilleann piper Joey Abarta and fiddler Nathan Gourley are two of
Americas great young trad musicians, who have been playing music together
daily since 2013. Their debut duo album, Copley Street, featuring Owen
Marshall on Greek bouzouki, has an undeniable chemistry and demonstrates a
nuanced understanding of each other's playing. Their music includes offbeat
settings of well-known tunes and beautiful pieces that seem to languish in
obscurity. Copley Street is a wonderful album from two stunning young
players that adds to Bostons rich history of traditional Irish music.

Originally from Southern California but now based in Boston, Joey is a
talented multi-instrumentalist on the tin whistle and uilleann pipes. He
earned All-Ireland honors on the pipes in 2009 and in 2014 became the first
American piper to take first prize at the Oireachtas. Joey is a renowned
instructor in Comhaltas's Boston Music School and last year received a
teaching grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council. He has toured with
Mick Moloneys Green Fields of America, performed with members of The Yanks,
and performs frequently as a solo musician.

A former member of Chulrua, the Doon Ceili Band, the Two Tap Trio, and the
Máirtín de Cógáin Project, Nathan Gourley started playing music at age five.
While living in Minnesota he had the opportunity to collaborate with such
renowned players as Paddy OBrien of Chulrua, Daithi Sproule of Altan, Brian
Miller of Bua, and Norah Rendell of The Outside Track. Now a resident of
Boston, Nathan has recently released Life Is All Checkered with Laura
Feddersen and The Truckley Howl with John Blake and Mairead Hurley.

Owen Marshall has performed and recorded with many of traditional musics top
performers including Aoife Clancy, Liz Carroll, Darol Anger, John Doyle,
Andrea Beaton, Jerry Holland, Ari & Mia Friedman, his own traditional Irish
trio The Press Gang and the acoustic trio Haas, Walsh and Marshall. His
music has appeared on NPRs Thistle and Shamrock, BBC television, and the
back of his left elbow has appeared on MTV. In addition to being a respected
performer, Owen is in demand at music camps throughout New England and the
U.S., where he shares his approach to accompanying traditional music.
