One of the shows that have become a hit ever since it premiered worldwide in Washington D.C., Dear Evan Hansen has made it to the same list as Hamilton.

This Broadway musical deals with contemporary society and themes that are relatable for many of us especially teenagers and young adults who are trying to make their place in the society. Evan Hansen is a teenager who suffers from social anxiety which limits his prospect into the world and therefore he seeks professional help. His psychiatrist suggests for him to write himself a letter which will make him less alone.

He must come to terms with himself before others can accept him and thus starts the self-journey that proves to be quite tumultuous as he engulfs more and more people into his life. Written by Pasek & Paul, this show unravels the life of a young teenager who is not self-actualized and therefore undergoes a major transformation.

Connor is another character that runs parallel to that of Evan Hansen. Connor is a drug addict and is also socially isolated. Mothers of both characters provide a strong theatrical about feelings and emotions that they have to deal with. The musical naturally explores the nature of family and how support of family can help in development of personality. Zoe, Evans love affair, is another important character in the show.

All the characters offer strong performances which will keep you hooked to the tragedy that is Dear Evan Hansen. The show becomes a favorite since it provides social commentary and the side of life that most of us are unaccustomed to. With stunning musical performances one cannot help but indulge as the plot comes to an end and Evan Hansen writes another letter to himself.
