SYNOPSIS:

"Blood Boundary" is set after World War I ended and just before the 1921 Tulsa race riots.

James, an impetus to the action, was renewing contact with his Oklahoma roots before returning to study medicine in Europe, when he finds out from his uncle Billy that he may have more Cherokee blood in him than he thought.

Billy is a railroad porter who wants to turn the family house into a hospitality center for all races. Local tumultuous developments involving race, make him conclude that he must arm himself for the coming events. Along with Tassie, Billy's daughter and an aspiring artist with some black and Cherokee blood.

Fain Cuddahy returns to meet her grandson Virgil, and must teach Tassie how to defend herself against men like him. Virgil, we learn, is racist against anyone who is not like him, but manages to show his good side until he is confronted with anything to do with race.

Helping to balance the family equation, the more overtly Victorian, yet inwardly strong great-aunt Jane, who comes into the picture to attempt to end the turmoil within the family.

Tassie and James escape to pursue their dreams in Paris only to hear news of the terrible events back home.
