Goal of Training
Come spend the day with the Chemical Dependency Training Consortium learning how to utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for treating addiction and depression. Both CBT and DBT are evidence based treatment modalities that have been highly beneficial for use in addiction and mental health treatment.

The aim of this course will be to provide a basic overview of the DBT and CBT treatment modalities and how they combine to address and manage major depression which lends itself to the development and maintenance of addiction. The course will teach the basics of each therapy and how they are utilized with clients for a holistic approach to sobriety. They will be able to help clients struggling with mood disorders to build skills and gain some mastery around emotions, behaviors, and thinking errors. At the end of this session there will be a brief question and answer session if time allows.
