3rd Sierra Club Maine Climate Action Conference
MAINE COMMUNITY-BASED APPROACHES TO A CLEAN ENERGY FUTURE AND CLIMATE CHANGE SOLUTIONS
Focusing on local solutions to combat climate change and inspire local Climate Action Teams to take action with the long-term goal of moving every Maine town and region toward 100% Clean Energy.
Workshops include information on solar power, weatherization, micro-grids, sustainable businesses, clean transportation, youth organizing, community resilience, sustainable agriculture, and much more.
The conference keynote speaker is GEORGE LAKEY, Earth Quaker Action Team leader, renowned author and motivational environmentalist, speaking on "Building a Movement: A Big Picture Vision for the Climate." The conference is dedicated to and in honor of David Moses Bridges, a fierce and effective environmentalist who spent much of his life working to preserve Wabanaki culture and fighting for the environmental integrity of Maine's native water and land. The unsubsidized cost of the conference is $50 per person (including lunch), but in order to include as many people as possible we are offering sliding scale tickets.
