Songs of the Klamath Documentary Premier, Featuring Ismay and Quiles & Cloud
Songs of the Klamath is a project created by North-Bay based artist Ismay, as part of her efforts to explore the connection between the arts and the environment. During her years-long exploration of the Klamath River, including a journey on horseback, she has created a short documentary, original music, photographs, and stories to examine the boundaries between music and environmentalism.

She will be sharing this work, screening the short documentary and giving a live performance of the songs. The evening will also feature music from the renowned acoustic trio Quiles & Cloud.
It will be held at a restored barn right along the Petaluma River, with limited seats available. This event is a fundraiser for Friends of the Petaluma River.

Ismay:
Coming from the coastal hills of northern California, Ismay is a singer, guitarist, and songwriter drawing inspiration from the natural landscape of the American West. With an ear for an old-time aesthetic and artistry of indie folk, Ismays blends inventive songwriting, ethereal vocals, and dynamic fingerpicking on the guitar. When she is not traveling the western states on horseback, Ismay can be found working on her ranch, collecting the sounds and stories of rural California. From this cultural history comes Ismays deep-rooted sound of the New American West.

Quiles & Cloud:
From humble beginnings in the folk clubs of San Francisco, to hundreds of concerts across thousands of miles, Quiles & Cloud give voice to the landscape of modern America with the timeless blend of storytelling, vocal harmony and acoustic instrumentation. BEYOND THE RAIN, produced by Compass Records co-founder and GRAMMY-winning banjoist Alison Brown, is Quiles & Cloud's debut record with the label. Their poetic minimalism and pristine harmonies bring to mind bands like Iron & Wine and The Weepies, but their musical portraits of American landmarks such as Deep Ellum and the Rio Grande are distinctly their own.

Friends of the Petaluma River:
A non-profit that was formed in 2005 to connect the community with the wonders of the Petaluma Watershed. While much of their work is focused on conservation and education surrounding this sensitive habitat, they also believe that celebration plays a large role in our mission. Through events at the River Heritage Center, family programming around the Watershed and access opportunities for the public they bring our Watershed to life.
