EVOLUTION IN ISOLATION 52 minutes Produced by Toni Escandell and Marina Segui (Spain) To the farthest islet from any Mediterranean continent, where atmospheric conditions are severe and adverse, where the harsh winds and seas disable the growth of vegetation, The Balearic Lizard thrives. PROTECTING BLUE WHALES AND BLUE SKIES 7 minutes Produced by Michael Hanrahan, NOAA Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary (USA) This film documents the collaborative effort to reduce ocean pollution and protect whales in the Santa Barbara Channel region.
THALATTA 12 minutes Produced by Lefteris Tektonidis (Greece) The relationship between man and the sea has always been an exploitative one. Produced by a self-funded group of students at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, this documentary sensitizes the public about the extreme exploitation of the sea through documents and testimonies from amateur and professional fishermen, scientists and experts on the domain of fishery.
