BEFRIEND
At New City we talk a lot about mission (serving the city, neighboring, hospitality, generosity). And we talk a lot about community (doing life together, rich relationships, living in proximity to one another). Scott Sauls new book Befriend is an opportunity to consider how mission and community go together.
We live in a world where friendship is hard to find. Often insecure, the tendency is to retreat into our small, self-made digital worlds. Sauls book challenges us to find our identity in Christ, and in so doing, the freedom to pursue real and diverse friendships, reaching out and inviting others in. A whole church community doing this has the opportunity to change lives, workplaces, schools and even whole neighborhoods. Join us in this discussion-based class as we walk through Befriend together. Cost: $10

CONNECT: QUIRKY TWEENS, BIBLE THEMES
Each week the kids will SEE, EXPLORE, and MAKE. As the see theyll watch an animated video that exposes a key biblical theme. In Explore, theyll dive into the Bible for passages that relate to the theme. Then, in Make, they relate themes to their own lives with lively activities that get them moving. Rising 5th graders and up.

QUEST: PARENTING IN A SEXUALIZED CULTURE
Parenting in a Sexualized Culture will answer questions like How do I talk to my kids about sex? Why is the one-time sex talk not enough? How does the abstinence message fall short? How can I model purity to my kids? What can I do about all of the technology invading my kids lives? As a parent, how will I leave a legacy?
Cost: $10

THE REASON FOR GOD
Why does God allow suffering in the world? How could a loving God send people to Hell? Why isnt Christianity more inclusive? How can one religion be right and the others wrong? Why have so many wars been fought in the name of God? These are questions that our non-Christian friends, perhaps even ourselves, are asking. Pastor Timothy Keller of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City has been engaging skeptics on these questions, and Ryan Zhang will use Kellers Reasons for God curriculum to help us think through some of these objections and questions.
Cost: $10
