PopUp Choir #10 - A Word's Worth
From the conductor, Dr. Michael Culloton:
"'A Word's Worth' will celebrate the special relationship between text and music that choral music provides. The concert will feature texts by some of the greatest poets that we've ever known, including Whitman, Donne, and Longfellow, as well as beautiful texts by anonymous writers.
"We'll sing scores from both sides of the sacred/secular divide, and even a couple of pieces with blurred lines in this regard, most notably John Tavener's, 'Song for Athene' which features liturgical text paired with words of Shakespeare.
"Join us for this program that will celebrate the inspirational, the sublime, and even a bit of the silly!"
