PERFORMERS:
Equipto
Bay Area rapper, producer, and community activist. Equipto is well known for his work with rap group Bored Stiff and SF rap icon Andre Nickatina. A San Francisco native, Equipto has played a major role as an activist speaking out against police violence and gentrification in SF and the broader Bay Area. Most notably, he was one of five participants in a 17-day hunger-strike against police brutality last year. The aftermath of which saw the removal of Police Chief Greg Suhr after yet another police killing of an unarmed African American woman in the Bayview neighborhood of SF. Equiptos work as a hip hop artist, community activist, and youth mentor in SF goes back the last 25 years.

Babii Cris
Babii Cris is a 23 yr old female rapper, producer & sound engineer from San Francisco, CA, mixing conscious rap with a West Coast hip hop style. She's had a passion for expressing herself through music since the age of 8. Khan
Khan is a Hip-Hop performing artist, event coordinator, and educator who recently released his first mixtape Strike Anywhere in digital and, uniquely, in matchbook form. In June he dropped his latest album, Occupied EP, a concept album and collaboration with local beat producer Ghost Hour. A strong jazz sound and hard hitting lyrics tell the raw story of the occupied world we live in from the first track to the last. The full EP will be performed at this show celebrating its release.

Mesha L & SPC-CDT
Mesha L and SPC-CDT are a emcee-producer electronic-trap-space-hip-hop duo from Santa Cruz. They have collaborated on two full length original albums, and have more in the works. Nexus
Nexus, also known as C-Los, is a rap artist and DJ from Long Beach who is currently living in Santa Cruz. He's been known to bring his two turntables and stacks of records containing hip-hop classics to community events to show youth how to scratch vinyl. He is working on his project The Mellow Mexica (pronounced muh-shee-kuh) Mixtape, which is being recorded at Barrios Unidos in Santa Cruz. Nexus will perform tracks from this work in progress.
