The Pirates of Penzance
Green Room Theatre Conservatory presents its annual summer musical, Gilbert & Sullivan's THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE, at the Indian Wells Theatre in Palm Desert on July 19 and 20, 2017. Led by award-winning directors David Catanzarite and Allison Feist, the production showcases several of Coachella Valley's rising musical theatre stars. THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE features some of comic opera's best-loved songs, including "I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major General", "Poor Wandering One", and "O, Better Far to Live and Die" ("I Am a Pirate King").
The desert's largest summer musical features the talents of piano virtuoso Kurt Jordan, with 53 actors and dancers under the musical direction of Mark Austin. Teen opera sensation Kaiya Treash heads the cast as Mabel, with local favorite Hal O'Connell as her father, Major General Stanley. Costumes with a wild steam punk twist are by Juliette Lunger, with choreography by Conservatory star Haley Izurieta. A special pre-show burlesque, "Ghost of the Pirate King", devised by playwright/director Deanne Anders, will open each performance. There is no better entertainment value in the Coachella Valley. Tickets are affordably priced at $19 and $12 for students and seniors. On-campus parking for the show has been negotiated and it is FREE!
THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE opens at 6:00 PM July 19, followed by performances at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM on July 20. The Indian Wells Theatre is located at California State University, San Bernardino's Palm Desert Campus, 37500 Cook Street.

Box office opens one hour before the show. Bring your pre-printed ticket. Please arrive early if you are buying tickets in person (warning: we may sell out). Arrive 45 minutes early if you need assistance for wheelchair or disabled seating - call in advance to make reservations.
Green Room Theatre is family friendly, but never admits children 4 and under to its mainstage presentations.
