Surround Sounds feat. Master Violinist Stephen Nachmanovitch
Join us for Surround Sounds, a concert for a cause with Master Violinist Stephen Nachmanovitch. This improvisational concert is a benefit for MIMA Music, a nonprofit organization that hosts songwriting programs for at-risk youth in the Charlottesville area.
Stephen Nachmanovitch performs and teaches internationally as an improvisational violinist, and at the intersections of music, dance, theater, and multimedia arts. He is the author of Free Play: Improvisation in Life and Art (Penguin, 1990). He has collaborated with other artists in media including music, dance, theater, and film, and has developed programs melding art, music, literature, and computer technology. After Stephen's performance MIMA educators will take the stage to showcase the MIMA Method of improvisation and collaborative songwriting.
$50 Ticket price includes: Flight of 3 ciders, heavy appetizers from Harvest Moon Catering, and the performance.
