SOL SUMMER PARTY
On July 29, 2017, from noon to 5pm, the SOL SUMMER PARTY welcomes and invites you to dance into its debut celebration at the spectacular Inn Walden in Aurora, Ohio. This private resort hideaway opens its grounds to the public for this special event.
Tickets are $50 Per Person.
SOL Opens: 12:00 PM - SOL SHOWCASE 1:00, 2:30, and 4:00 PM.
The SOL SUMMER PARTY picnic-styled setting kicks off with a showcase of original music videos and short films and pays tribute in a live dance performance to the Lido de Paris which launched the legendary cabaret art form and exotic dancing shows. The music videos highlight the movement of dance and the visual style of fashion while the short film program will present stories of love and romance.
As day blends to night, the partys spotlight turns into the artful display of THE FLOORSHOWS CRIMINAL FASHION-- a multimedia exhibition. The exhibition will feature dancers and include photography, art, and authentic stage costumes, and a filmed tribute to the master costume designers, Bob Mackie (Hallelujah Hollywood), Folco (Allez Lido!), Pete Menefee (Hello Hollywood Hello), Jose Luis Vinas (Casino de Paris), and Pierre Rambert (Lidos Cest Magique).
Our Guest ArtistsJack Failla, dancer/choreographer from the Lido de Paris Bonheur is a revered veteran in the world of professional dance creating shows and performing in the worlds most famous venues and shows. Jason Reddock, Lido de Paris Casting (USA), MGM Grands Hallelujah Hollywood. Miranda Coe, Bluebell, Dancer, Lido de Paris Allez Lido!, Cocorico, & Actress in the BBC Television Series, Bluebell.
THE FLOORSHOWS CRIMINAL FASHION theme will unveil through costume and retro-fashion what was expressed openly in Las Vegas (1958) and outlawed in Atlantic City (1980). The exhibit will also explore the French connection to the Stardust Hotels infamous past of dazzling cabaret costumes and burlesque shows that featured the iconic showgirls from the Lido de Paris, Casino de Paris, and Folies Bergere. Performances will take place Friday July 28th and Saturday July 29th from 6-9 at Inn Walden. There will be a Floorshow Book signing in the library after the exhibit shows. Tickets are $100 Per Person.
