Both Sides of the Bars
MCJP's work focuses on de-populating Michigan's prisons, and raising pubic awareness on the problems within prisons, through individual casework with prisoners (over 2,000 annually) building to systemic change efforts including reforming access to parole for those serving the longest sentences and people with severe and persistent mental illnesses. MCJP's work also focuses on involving free world citizens through the Good Neighbor Project, internships designed to mentor the next generation of advocates, and extensive volunteer opportunities.
To continue to lead de-population efforts in Michigan and to improve conditions of confinement for Michigan prisoners, we need your support. Both Sides of the Bars is an opportunity to come together, celebrate an important anniversary, and, most importantly, raise critical funds to support our work.
If you have any questions, are buying a ticket for one of our current interns, or prefer to buy your ticket offline by check, please email bothsidesofthebars@gmail.com for further instruction.
